PORT TOWNSEND — Friends of Bob Boardman will remember him during a memorial potluck, jam and dance at the Quimper Grange on Sunday.
Boardman was killed Oct. 16 by a mountain goat in Olympic National Park. He was 63.
A boat builder, music maker, registered nurse and diabetes educator, Boardmen had lived in Port Townsend for 25 years before moving to the Port Angeles area in 1999.
Sunday’s informal meal will begin at 2 p.m. at the grange at 1219 Corona St. just off Sheridan Street.
Sharing of stories will follow at 3 p.m., and square- and contra-dancing will start at about 4 p.m.
As a sought-after guitarist and mandolinist, Boardman was also a longtime participant and mentor to young players in Centrum’s annual Festival of American Fiddle Tunes.
Some 350 people attended a memorial service for Boardman at the Lower Elwha Klallam Tribal Center west of Port Angeles last Saturday.
