PORT ANGELES — The four candidates for the next Port Angeles School District superintendent will be introduced in a series of public forums this week.
The one-hour forums are planned Tuesday and Wednesday at the Lincoln Center at 905 W. Ninth St. in Port Angeles.
Here is the schedule as announced by the Port Angeles School District:
• 5 p.m. Tuesday: Mary Templeton, human resource director of certified personnel at Spokane Public Schools.
• 6 p.m. Tuesday: Jared Hoadley, assistant superintendent of student services at Mead School District near Spokane.
• 5 p.m. Wednesday: Chuck Lisk, assistant superintendent of teaching and learning at Port Angeles School District.
• 6 p.m. Wednesday: Martin Brewer, superintendent at Pioneer School District in Shelton.
District officials will conduct interviews with the finalists Tuesday and Wednesday.
The Port Angeles School Board is expected to announce its choice for superintendent at its Thursday meeting.
The meeting will begin 7 p.m. at Jefferson Elementary School, 218 E. 12th St.
Current Port Angeles School Superintendent Marc Jackson announced last summer that he plans to retire on June 29.
Jackson has served the Port Angeles School District since July 2014.
Twelve candidates applied for the position. The School Board hired Northwest Leadership Associates to help in the search for the next superintendent.
“The search firm did a careful review of applicants,” Board President Sarah Methner said in a news release.
“We’re confident that one of these four will be a great leader for the Port Angeles School District.”
