PORT ANGELES — Veteran Clallam County Master Gardener Rita Dinger will share vegetable gardening strategies at noon Thursday, Feb. 13.
The talk will be in the county commissioners’ meeting room at the Clallam County Courthouse, 223 E. Fourth St.
Although the talk is free, donations will be accepted to help offset copying costs for handouts.
Classic mistakes
Dinger will suggest ways to prevent some classic gardening mistakes regarding planting location and layout, soil preparation and what and how much to plant.
She will also provide tips on record-keeping
She is a frequent speaker at gardening events throughout the community and an instructor for the Master Gardener training program.
2,500 volunteer hours
She has contributed more than 2,500 volunteer hours to the Clallam County Master Gardener Program and was named 2010 Master Gardener of the Year.
This presentation is part of the “Green Thumbs Garden Tips” brown bag series sponsored by the WSU Clallam County Master Gardeners on the second and fourth Thursday of every month in Port Angeles.
