SEQUIM — Clallam County sheriff’s deputies were looking Saturday for two Sequim men — after arresting a third Friday — suspected in a home burglary along Woodcock Road.
The search is related to the multi-agency pursuit and eventual arrest of Drew Tyler Balch, 21, apprehended after a chase that covered 19.8 miles and ended Wednesday morning on Old Gardiner Road.
Deputies are looking for Andrew Donald Luquette, 31, and Ronnie Lee Bayley, 37, both described as transients from the Sequim area, in connection with a home break-in along Woodcock Road between Cays and Towne roads, said Detective Sgt. John Keegan with the Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies arrested Ryan Joseph Luquette, 34, brother of Andrew Luquette, at about 1:30 p.m. Friday after a three-day investigation.
Ryan Luquette remained in the Clallam County jail Saturday, booked for investigation of second-degree burglary, third-degree possession of stolen property and an outstanding arrest warrant.
Balch remained in the county jail Saturday on $52,500 bail, booked for investigation of eluding a police vehicle, hit-and-run on an unattended vehicle and a handful of arrest warrants.
He is expected to be charged Tuesday in Superior Court.
Descriptions
Andrew Luquette is described as 6 feet, 1 inch tall and weighing 207 pounds. Bayley is 5 feet, 5 inches tall, and weighs 150 pounds.
Both have brown hair and eyes.
Deputies said they suspect Andrew Luquette and Bayley of being involved in the burglary after an investigation that started with reports of a suspicious gray truck and red Jeep Cherokee parked on Many Feathers Way.
Witnesses reported seeing people transferring items in between the two vehicles, Keegan said.
Deputies pursued and caught up with the truck, which was driven by Balch, and later learned through interviews with others that the Jeep and its contents allegedly had been stolen from a previously unreported burglary, Keegan said.
Deputies found the burglarized house on Woodcock Road later Wednesday, Keegan added.
After several other interviews, deputies served a search warrant Thursday on a shed next to a house in the Sequim area that Andrew Luquette was seen loading items into, Keegan said.
He said deputies confirmed that the items were stolen from the Woodcock Road home.
They found the stolen Jeep stripped the next day along a logging road near the 2900 block of Blue Mountain Road.
After the Jeep was discovered, a person deputies previously had interviewed turned in a backpack belonging to Ryan Luquette containing more stolen items from the Woodcock Road home, Keegan said.
Deputies arrested Ryan Luquette about an hour later at a home along Many Feathers Way and booked him into jail.
