PORT ANGELES — One person was injured and taken to Olympic Medical Center in one of two collisions that occurred on U.S. Highway 101 just west of Port Angeles.
Three cars were involved in a crash about 8:11 p.m. Sunday, according to State Patrol.
A vehicle eastbound on Highway 101 driven by Donald Hollum, 31, of Bainbridge Island turned left in front of a westbound vehicle driven by James E. Thompson, 37, of Port Angeles near Granny’s Cafe.
Thompson’s vehicle struck the right front of Hollum’s vehicle. A third eastbound vehicle driven by Robert Ferguson, 34, of Oak Harbor hit debris from the collision, causing damage to his vehicle.
Thompson was taken to Olympic Medical Center, where he was treated and released. Two passengers in Hollum’s vehicle, a 29-year-old Bainbridge Island woman and a 15-year-old Bainbridge Island girl, were uninjured.
Ferguson and two passengers in his vehicle, a 31-year-old Florida woman and a 39-year-old Seattle woman, were all uninjured.
Everyone in all three vehicles were wearing seatbelts, according to the State Patrol report.
The State Patrol is investigating possible charges of failing to yield the right-of-way.
A little more than an hour earlier Sunday, a collision occurred near the same location when a vehicle eastbound on Highway 101 turned left in front of a westbound vehicle and was struck.
There were no injuries, according to the State Patrol.
