SEQUIM – Sequim police have arrested the injured driver of a car they say had been stolen from the Sequim High School parking lot.
Alexander Greene, 21, was found with head and neck injuries after officers said he drove onto the sidewalk and struck a pole in the 600 block of North Sequim Avenue at about 1:45 p.m. Friday.
Officers said Greene appeared to be intoxicated. He was taken to Olympic Medical Center in Port Angeles.
About three hours after the collision, police learned a Sequim High School student had left classes and discovered his car was missing.
The vehicle was the one Greene had been driving, officers said.
Police booked Greene into the Clallam County jail for investigation of first-degree theft of a motor vehicle, driving while intoxicated and leaving the scene of a property damage accident.
