FORKS — A La Push man was injured when he reportedly fell asleep while driving just west of Forks.
Dusty O. Jackson, 32, of La Push, was driving his vehicle west on state Highway 110 near Hermison Road at about 8 p.m. Saturday when he reportedly fell asleep and the vehicle drifted off the right shoulder of the roadway. The vehicle went into a ditch and collided with trees, according to a State Patrol report.
Jackson was taken by medical aid to Forks Community Hospital.
The State Patrol reported that Jackson was wearing a seatbelt and that no drugs or alcohol was suspected to be involved.
The State Patrol cited Jackson for driving with wheels off the roadway.
The vehicle was totally destroyed.
