PORT ANGELES — A 23-year-old man was in serious condition Saturday at a Seattle hospital after being stabbed outside a Port Angeles bar, while the man police suspect stabbed him remained at large.
Police say David J. Harris, 30, stabbed Ernesto Sanches-Andalob of Port Angeles at about 1:41 a.m. Saturday outside the R Bar at 132 E. Front St.
Sanches-Andalob was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
Port Angeles Detective Sgt. Jason Viada said an arrest warrant had been issued for Harris, 30.
He said Harris has lived in Port Angeles and Sequim, but that his current residence was unknown.
Harris’ MySpace page, in which he refers to himself as “Gangsta Dave,” says he lives in Sequim. Viada confirmed that the Harris in the MySpace page is the man wanted by police.
Viada declined to say what prompted the stabbing, or the number or location of Sanches-Andalob’s wounds, citing the “open and active investigation.”
But he did say police believe it was a murder attempt.
Shortly after the stabbing, Viada said a woman living in the 200 block of West Seventh Street called police to report that a man she didn’t know had knocked on her door and told her he had just stabbed somebody.
The man had left by the time officers arrived, Viada said.
Viada also said he couldn’t confirm if Harris was the man who knocked on her door, citing the ongoing investigation.
