CARLSBORG — A driver who was in a three-car wreck on U.S. Highway 101 in Carlsborg earlier this month has died, the State Patrol reported.
Justin J. Thompson-Petersen, 23, of Sequim, died at 12:33 a.m. Sunday. He was flown to a Seattle-area hospital after the crash Nov. 13 and had been hospitalized at Providence Medical Center in Everett.
The Snohomish County Medical Examiner notified next of kin Sunday.
Thompson-Peterson was driving west on U.S. Highway 101 at about 3 p.m. Nov. 13 when he drove his vehicle through a red light at Carlsborg Road, according to the State Patrol report.
His vehicle, a 2002 Mazda Protege, hit a vehicle turning from Carlsborg Road onto U.S. Highway 101, the State Patrol said. After that collision, Thompson-Petersen’s vehicle rotated to hit a third vehicle.
The collisions sent a 30-year-old Port Angeles woman, a 32-year-old Sequim woman and a 7-year-old girl in the two other vehicles to Olympic Medical Center, where they were not admitted for their injuries.
Portions of U.S. Highway 101 were closed for several hours after the wreck.
Thompson-Petersen was not wearing a seatbelt, the State Patrol said. Neither drugs nor alcohol were suspected, according to the report.
Charges were pending, the State Patrol said.
