SEQUIM — The deceased man who was located on the beach about a quarter-mile from the Dungeness Lighthouse has been identified, the Clallam County Sheriff’s Office said.
Oleksander Stefanchuck, 34, of Portland, Ore., was located about 10:48 a.m. Wednesday. Sheriff’s deputies responded and located him about 10 feet from the water line on shore as the tide was coming in, according to a press release.
There is no suspicion of foul play, the sheriff’s office said Friday. The county coroner’s office notified his next of kin.
Stefanchuck was described as white between the ages of 20-30, about 200 pounds with short light brown hair, wearing a black sweatshirt and black swim shorts, the sheriff’s office said. He had U.S. coins in his pocket, but no other identification was located.
There were no visible injuries, scars, marks, tattoos or other identifying marks visible, the sheriff’s office said.
There were no recent reports of missing persons matching his description in Clallam County, the sheriff’s office said.
