PORT ANGELES — An autopsy is scheduled this evening on the body of a 32-year-old man who was found dead near the Waterfront Trail on Wednesday.
Lee D. Renfro, who was reported missing Monday, was found shortly before 6 p.m. on the Rayonier Inc.’s former mill site north of the old guard shack, said Port Angeles Detective Cpl. Jason Viada.
There was no evidence of foul play, but a cause of death has not been determined, he said.
“It’s possible it’s related in some way to exposure to the elements,” Viada said.
He said Renfro was dressed “appropriately for a walk on a sunny day.”
It’s unknown when he died.
Renfro was visiting family in Port Angeles, said Viada, who declined to say where the man was from.
Viada said police have yet to determine how long Renfro had been visiting family or the circumstances of his reported disappearance.
Police also don’t know where he had been living since Monday.
