PORT ANGELES — The man who died in a structure fire off East Sequim Bay Road last week has been identified.
Brian J. Long, 44, died in the fire Aug. 2 and was identified by medical records and surgical history, the Clallam County Coroner’s Division of the prosecuting attorney’s office said Monday.
Law enforcement and Clallam County Fire District 3 officials determined the fire was accidental, according to a press release. A full postmortem was conducted and found no evidence of foul play, the Coroner’s Division said.
Peninsula Communications was alerted to a structure fire on the 300 block of Blue Grouse Run about 6:30 a.m. Aug. 2. Interim chief Dan Orr with Fire District 3 said at the time that the structure was fully involved while firefighters were on scene.
Several people were inside the house at the time of the fire, Orr said.
