PORT ANGELES — An 18-year-old Port Angeles resident who was not wearing his seatbelt escaped serious injury after crashing his truck into McDonald Creek early Monday morning, authorities said.
Sage L. Galvin, 18, was transported to Olympic Medical Center, according to a State Patrol press release.
Galvin was treated and released, hospital spokeswoman Bobby Beeman said later Monday morning.
Galvin was driving eastbound on Old Olympic Highway at about 12:55 a.m. Monday when his 1989 Isuzu pickup truck left the roadway to the right, collided with the guardrail and continued down into the creek bed, ending up on the east side of the creek.
The cause of the crash was Galvin’s speed and inattention, the State Patrol said.
He was cited for wheels off the roadway and failure to wear a seatbelt.
Galvin’s truck was totaled.
Neither drugs nor alcohol were suspected, the State Patrol said.
