PORT TOWNSEND—The body of a 58-year-old Olympia man was discovered in the water between Point Wilson and Point Hudson today after a small skiff in which he was riding apparently capsized.
The man has not been publicly identified pending notification of next of kin, according to Deputy Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney David Alvarez, who is acting as coroner.
A pleasure craft observed the capsized boat and the body about a mile out into the water and called it in at 9:45 a.m.
Rescue workers were able to get to the site in just over 15 minutes, retrieved the body and towed the skiff back to Port Townsend Boat Haven, where it was met by Alvarez and Kosec Funeral Home director Real Robles.
