PORT ANGELES — Bail was set at $250,000 for a Port Angeles man accused of physically abusing his wife and threatening her children.
Dale J. Purser, 28, is expected to be charged Thursday with assault three assault counts and felony harassment, malicious mischief and theft charges related to a domestic violence investigation that included an unusual “wanted” notification of Clallam County media outlets Friday.
Purser turned himself in early Saturday morning after a police search that began after his wife was found severely injured after leaving the family home.
Police responded to reports of the injured woman at the gas station at 2453 E. Highway 101 at 2:30 p.m. Friday.
When they arrived, the woman told police she had been attacked by her husband and her children’s lives had been threatened.
She was taken to Olympic Medical Center with serious injuries to the head and torso, authorities said.
Her children were found safe at the home of a family friend.
Purser is the father of one of the two children.
The current location of the woman and her children is undisclosed for their protection.
