Local government agencies will meet next week on the North Olympic Peninsula.

Jefferson County

The three Jefferson County commissioners will conduct public hearings on the 2022 Parks, Recreation, Open Space and Trails plan and on an ordinance regarding the determination of legal status of lots of record when they meet at 9 a.m. Monday.

The commissioners will hear an update on COVID-19 and monkeypox from Dr. Allison Berry at 9:45 a.m.

Clallam County

The three Clallam County commissioners will continue discussions on proposed law enforcement recruitment and retention bonuses and conduct a public hearing on debatable budget emergencies related to the Bullman Beach water system and fuel for the Public Works department in their weekly business meeting Tuesday.

The commissioners’ work session, at 9 a.m. Monday, will preview items set for action at their formal meeting, which starts at 10 a.m. Tuesday.

• An interlocal agreement with the city of Port Angeles to reimburse the county up to $98,000 for water quality monitoring services through 2026.

• An amended agreement with the state Recreation and Conservation Office for an additional $2,800,000, for a total of $8,846,868 for the lower Dungeness floodplain restoration project.

• An interagency agreement with the Department of Commerce for $226,563 for Olympic Peninsula Narcotics Enforcement Team expenses.

• An interagency agreement with the Washington Traffic Safety Commission for $27,000 for Sheriff’s Office support of Target Zero priorities.

• A request for an increased scope of work and compensation for Robinson Noble of $14,860 for a total of $45,528 for the Carlsborg UGA water right project.

• A call for a public hearing at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 11, regarding proposed changes to Policy 220 – Classification, Work Hours and Compensation.

• A call for a public hearing at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 11, regarding an ordinance repealing Chapter 7.01 – Junk Dealers – Secondhand Dealers.

• A call for a public hearing at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 25 regarding the vacation of a county right-of-way for platted Hazel Street.

Clallam County Public Utility District commissioners will discuss water rights and service expansion in Carlsborg when they meet at 1:30 p.m. Monday.
