WITH ONE WEEK to go before Christmas, there are plenty of venues with holiday musical fare to get you into the spirit of the season.
Port Angeles
■ Today at Castaways Restaurant and Night Club, 1213 Marine Drive, it’s Jerry’s country jam with host band High Country from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
■ Today at Jasmine Bistro, 222 N. Lincoln St., Bread and Gravy — Jess and Stephanie Doenges — play Americana, classic rock, jazz and some contemporary music on a variety of instruments from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
■ Today at Bar N9NE, 229 W. First St., the open mic starts at 9 p.m.
■ On Friday at Barhop Brewing, 124 W. Railroad Ave., the Fabulous Hayshakers dish out country and dance-friendly rock starting at 8 p.m.
■ On Friday at the Fairmount Restaurant, 1127 W. U.S. Highway 101, there’s a jam session from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., followed by Serendipity and High Country with special guest Julie Silveria and Jerry Robison until 8 p.m.
■ On Friday at Easy Street Coffee and Tea House, 128 W. First St., there’s a festive open mic (only original music) planned from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Stop by for more information.
■ On Friday at The Lazy Moon Craft Tavern, 130 S. Lincoln St., Dan Maguire plays original folk and Americana songs from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m., followed by special guest Ron Munro till 9 p.m.
On Saturday, Rogues’ End brings Gypsy and Celtic music at 7 p.m. Admission is a donation, as the band is raising money to help a local family in need.
On Tuesdays, Doug Parent plays his acoustic Americana from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
On Wednesdays, Ches Ferguson & Friends perform classic rock with a few originals thrown in from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.
■ On Friday at The Metta Room, 132 E. Front St., a boot-stompin’ good time is promised by Kings of the Wild Frontier and Good Machine starting at 9 p.m. $3 cover.
■ On Friday at The Dam Bar, junction of U.S. Highway 101 and state Highway 112, Gordon Bowlby hosts a jam session from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m.
■ On Tuesdays at the Port Angeles Senior Center, 328 E. Seventh St., Wally’s Boys play ballroom dance favorites from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. $5 cover; first-timers free.
Sequim
■ Today at Wind Rose Cellars, 143 W. Washington St., Cort Armstrong and friends — this time Jim Faddis, Ron Munro and Donna Rankin — entertain from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
On Friday, Rufus & the Blue Hares play rock, folk and blues from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
On Saturday, the Robin Bessier Trio, with vocalist Bessier, pianist George Radebaugh and bassist Ted Enderle, provide an evening of swinging jazz, Latin and original music from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
■ On Friday at The Oasis Bar and Grill, 301 E. Washington St., the Old Sidekicks play country for dancing from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
On Saturday, the Buck Ellard Band plays Buck’s signature country hits and originals from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
■ On Saturday at the Sequim VFW, 169 E. Washington St., Silver and Gold step on stage with live classic country for dancing from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
■ On Sunday at the Sequim Prairie Grange, 290 Macleay Road, the Buck Ellard Band plays country hits and originals for dancing from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Admission is $10 per person, $15 per couple or $25 per family. Children younger than 10 get in free with family. Refreshments provided.
■ On Wednesday at Nourish, 1345 S. Sequim Ave., Victor Reventlow hosts the open mic from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., with sign-ups at 6 p.m.

On Saturday, it’s the Dirty Beat Duo Jingle Ball, with dancing to original electronica starting at 9 p.m. $5 cover.
On Tuesdays, join in the weekly free jazz night from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. This week, it’s the Val James Christmas Jazz Show.

On Friday, L.A.’s Mythological Horses; The Jawbone Club of Ashland, Ore.; and The Shiver Twins of Juneau, Alaska, offer a free punk show from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.
On Saturday, locals Cradle Cap and Dr. Light; Murrieta, Calif.’s Cento; Usana of Tin Can 262; Erik Conradi of Brooklyn, N.Y.; and more fill The Boiler Room with a variety of tunes during the Embers of December event from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

■ Every Saturday at Snug Harbor Cafe, 281732 U.S. Highway 101, Skeeter Ezell plays covers of Roy Orbison and the like from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

High notes
■ On Friday at the Sequim Boys & Girls Club, 400 W. Fir St., five bands play from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. to raise funds and take food donations for the Sequim Food Bank.
Never Met A Dead Man plays its final show, followed by Jack Havoc and a DVD release. Prestige, Forgetter and Estafets will keep locals moving to the beat after that.
Admission is $5 or five cans of food. Open to all ages.
■ On Friday at the Port Townsend Elks Lodge, 555 Otto St., the Olympic Peninsula Dance Club presents Seattle “Gator Boy” DJ Sean Donovan with a rich stew of swing, waltz, cha-cha, blues, two-step and West Coast swing from 8 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
Admission is $10, and there’s free instruction of the Whiskey River jitterbug at 7 p.m.
■ On Friday at the Chimacum Grange, 9572 Rhody Drive, it’s a honky-tonk dancing evening for all ages with DJ Phoenix from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Bring snacks, water and $5 cover.
■ On Saturday, the Quimper Grange, 1219 Corona St., Port Townsend, hosts the Third Saturday Contra Dance at 7:30 p.m., with Greywolf playing the tunes and Jeanie Murphy calling the dance until 10:30 p.m.
Admission is $6 for adults, $3 for those ages 3 to 18 and free for those younger than 3.
