THE FEAR OF Friday the 13th is known as paraskevidekatriaphobia, but for many, Friday will be a night of fun and music, especially because the 2nd Friday Art Rock makes its way into Port Angeles once again.
Other weekend live music events around the Peninsula offer fearless entertainment opportunities, too.
Port Angeles
■ Today at Castaways Restaurant and Night Club, 1213 Marine Drive, it’s Jerry’s country jam with guest performer Chuck Grall from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
■ Today at Bar N9NE, 229 W. First St., the open mic starts at 9 p.m.
On Friday, Joy in Mudville plays rock music to accompany artists Lynne Roberson and Jeff Tocher in their “Two Artists, One Canvas” presentation for 2nd Friday Art Rock (2FAR) at 8 p.m. $3 cover.
On Saturday, DJ RoBoTiX spins top hits for a Port Scandalous Roller Derby Jell-O shot fundraiser from 9 p.m. into the night.
■ On Friday at the Vern Burton Community Center, 308 E. Fourth St., Steve and Anne Johnson’s “Just For Fun Dance Class” sponsors an all-ages community dance with live music by the Jimmy Hoffman Band from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. $5 admission; free for students.
■ On Friday at The Metta Room, 132 E. Front St., DJ Bizzle plays a variety of danceable music starting at 9 p.m.
On Saturday, Jessica Lynne and the Cousins play rockin’ country at 9 p.m. For those 21 and older. $5 cover.
■ On Friday at the Fairmount Restaurant, 1127 W. U.S. Highway 101, there’s a jam session from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m., followed by Jim Lind and Luck of the Draw with special guest Chuck Grall until 8 p.m.
On Sundays, Craig Logue hosts the open mic from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
■ On Saturday at the Lazy Moon Craft Tavern, 130 S. Lincoln St., the Twisted Roots Trio returns with some standards and some surprises starting at 7 p.m.
On Wednesdays, Ches Ferguson & Friends perform classic rock with a few originals thrown in from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
■ On Saturday at Elliott’s Antique Emporium, 135 E. First St., Hawaii Amor plays traditional ukulele music from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
■ On Sunday at Next Door Gastropub, 113 W. First St., Bread & Gravy, the husband-and-wife acoustic duo of Jess and Stephanie Doenges, perform starting at 5 p.m.
■ On Monday at the Coo Coo Nest, 1017 E. First St., join the open mic with Jared Bauer at 9 p.m.
■ On Tuesdays at the Port Angeles Senior Center, 328 E. Seventh St., Wally’s Boys play jazz dance favorites from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. $5 cover; first-timers free.
Sequim
■ Today at Wind Rose Cellars, 143 W. Washington St., Jim Lind & Going Rogue, a blues-flavored band, entertains from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
On Friday, Mary Tulin plays acoustic Celtic music from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
On Saturday, Lush Life Jazz Trio with Trevor Hanson, Joey Lazzaro and Jim Rosand brings originals in jazz from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

■ On Friday at the Northwest Maritime Center, 431 Water St., it’s the last show for The Better Half, a five-member band that has been playing funk, rock and soul since 2006. The event starts at 6:30 p.m., with BandLab playing first.
■ On Friday at the Uptown Pub & Grill, 1016 Lawrence St., the Crow Quill Night Owls, a local band playing jug, ragtime, blues and hillbilly music, steps on stage at 9 p.m.
On Saturday, Moongrass, a “Nooksack delta” group of six, sings songs about life in an Americana style from 9 p.m. to closing.
On Tuesdays, join in on an open mic with Jarrod Bramson at 9 p.m.

■ On Friday at 7:30 p.m. at the Laurel B. Johnson Community Center, 923 Hazel Point Road, Coyle, Buddy Mondlock stops his western tour here with Mike Lindauer accompanying him on bass and harmonies.
Mondlock’s songs have been recorded by Garth Brooks, Guy Clark, Joan Baez and others.
