List of Olympic National Park damage

A summary of Olympic National Park damage from October’s heavy rains that have been discovered so far:

* Dosewallips — The Dose Forks bridge is damaged. Foot logs at Diamond Meadows and Honeymoon Meadows are gone.

The Dosewallips road within park boundaries also sustained damage.

* Elwha Valley — The Elwha River Trail, which leaves from the Whiskey Bend trailhead, was washed out in a number of places and reroutes will need to be constructed.

The 75-foot-long Lost River bridge is washed out, along with a number of foot logs.

The Lillian River bridge sustained damaged.

* Marymere Falls — The foot log over Falls Creek was washed away, prohibiting access to the final quarter-mile of trail and the falls viewing area.

* Sol Duc — The North Fork foot log has been washed away.

* Bogachiel — Several washouts have been reported.

* Hoh — Extensive trail erosion and missing foot logs have been reported.

* East Fork Quinault — All of the foot logs and puncheon bridges between the Graves Creek trailhead and Enchanted Valley are gone.

A large section of trail near Enchanted Valley was washed away and will require reconstruction.

Graves Creek Road remains closed for repairs.

* North Fork Quinault — There is extensive damage to the trail, both from washout and from a landslide near Elip Creek that buried 150 feet of trail.

The North Fork road has been reopened with temporary repairs, but may close intermittently depending on weather and road conditions.

The Graves Creek, Queets and Sol Duc roads remain closed due to damage from the Oct. 16 storm.

For current information about road and trail conditions, call the Olympic National Park Visitor Center at 360-565-3130.
