PORT ANGELES — Traffic on Lincoln Street will be subject to “intermittent interruptions’ during the next two months as a storm drain is installed between Fourth and Seventh streets.
The work begins today and continues 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday until Nov. 16.
The construction will be mostly on the east side of Lincoln Street, except for connections to catch basins on the west side at intersections and alleys, said City Civil Engineer Terri Partch.
Parking will be prohibited on both sides of Lincoln Street so one lane of traffic can be shifted onto the shoulder to maintain two-way traffic, she said.
Traffic will be alternated when the project crosses intersections and alleys, Partch said.
“We’re trying to keep the disturbance to a minimum, hopefully,” she said.
The project was scheduled after Labor Day to avoid affecting tourist traffic, Partch said.
