PORT ANGELES — Traffic on South Lincoln Street around its intersection with Second Street is disrupted today because of sewer work.
A crew from Strider Construction Co. began work at about 9:30 a.m. in the middle of Lincoln Street.
Work is expected to be completed this afternoon.
The contractor is repairing a weir inside the vault and removing a temporary plug, according to Jeff Bender, civil engineer with city of Port Angeles.
The work is to ensure the line is active before winter rains come, Bender said.
“Winter is here. Rainy days are coming and we need to make sure it’s running appropriately,” Bender said.
