'Les Miserables' continues its 'amazing, powerful' run in Sequim — Saturday performance at 7 p.m.

DO YOU HEAR hear the people sing . . . ?

Peninsula Daily News has been hearing nothing but rave reviews (truly) about “Les Miserables” in the Sequim High School Auditorium, 601 N. Sequim Ave.

Next performance is at 7 p.m. tonight (July 26), then July 31 and Aug. 1-2.

Our publisher (John Brewer, who saw Les Miz on Broadway twice while he worked for The New York Times) went to the Sequim show Friday night . . . said it was top-notch . . . and has been humming the tunes all morning.

Tickets are $20 premium, $15 adults, $12 for seniors and children and $10 for the balcony. They are available in advance online at www.beyondthebarricades.com or www.penfamtheater.org; at Joyful Noise Music Center, 112 W. Washington St.; or at the door.

“It’s a huge production, but it’s a really powerful story,” Les Miz director Robin Hall said. “But the voices are amazing and powerful, and I think everything has fallen into the right place to put on a really great show.”

(AND PLENTY OF other great shows also on the boards around the North Olympic Peninsula — including another winner, “Sherlock Holmes: The Final Adventure,” at Olympic Theatre Arts in Sequim, 414 N. Sequim Ave., at 7:30 p.m. tonight and 2 p.m. Sunday.

(Purchase tickets online at www.olympictheatrearts.org. Read about shows and concerts this weekend across Clallam and Jefferson counties in the weekend edition of the Peninsula Daily News and www.peninsuladailynews.com.)
