PORT TOWNSEND — A special screening of the detective adventure “A Person Known to Me,” filmed in Port Townsend, is slated at the Key City Playhouse, 419 Washington St., at 7 p.m. this coming Monday, Nov. 4. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students; proceeds will benefit the nonprofit Key City Public Theatre.
The movie, which screened during the Port Townsend Film Festival in September, features Peter Wiant of Port Townsend as rogue bartender Oddley Conklin, and his 13-year-old daughter Kaya Wiant as Emeline Conklin.
In “A Person Known to Me,” Emeline must make a moral decision that could cost her father Oddley his freedom.
Also appearing in the movie are Port Townsend actors and artists Angela Amos, Jordan Elliott Jackson, Michael Vicha, Meline Toumani, Heather Dudley Nollette, D.D. Wigley, Thaddeus Jurczynski, David Langley, Amanda Kingsley, Jack Kingsley, Adam Matthew, Brandon Chappell, Dave Cunningham, Henry Feldman, John Clise, Karen Starling, Nora Kingsley, Kelly McNees, Bonita Anderson, Marcy Jaffe, Michelle Hensel, Jim Ewing, Todd Richmond Stevens and Sarah Chrisman.
“A Person Known to Me” is the tale of two detectives traveling across America from 1895 and 1905, taking on cases. Filmmakers Stephanie Argy and Alec Boehm brought their movies “Gandhi at the Bat” and “The Red Machine” to Port Townsend Film Festivals of years past. Then, inspired by their visits here, they drew on the city’s history and geography for this latest movie.
