PORT ANGELES — Kenmore Air Express officials should know within a month whether there’s enough community support to provide regular passenger service to Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, an airline official said Monday.
“We presented the (Port Angeles airline) task force with the steps we’ve taken to provide service to Sea-Tac,” said Tim Brooks, Kenmore’s director of flight operations.
“We indicated it’s a very expensive proposition. We’ve laid the groundwork.
“Now we need to know whether the community is willing to support that.”
Kenmore Air Express, the ground division of Seattle-based Kenmore Air, a floatplane airline, began offering regular daily passenger service between Port Angeles’ William R. Fairchild International Airport and Seattle’s Boeing Field in June.
The company followed the lead of San Juan Airlines, which began similar service in January, right after Horizon Air ceased commuter service between Port Angeles and Sea-Tac.
Both San Juan and Kenmore provide a free ground shuttle from Boeing to Sea-Tac.
