PORT ANGELES — Kenmore Air Express, which flies five round trips daily between Port Angeles and Seattle’s Boeing Field, has entered into an interline agreement with Alaska Airlines.
Craig O’Neill, Kenmore’s marketing director, said the agreement means that booking a flight to or from Port Angeles could become easier in the near future.
“We are still working out how to make their computers talk to our computers,” O’Neill told the audience at Monday’s Port Angeles Regional Chamber of Commerce luncheon at the Port Angeles CrabHouse Restaurant.
The agreement will allow passengers to book transfer flights and arrangements for both airlines through Kenmore Air or by booking a ticket through Seattle-based Alaska Airlines.
Kenmore will continue to fly to Boeing Field in Seattle.
Passengers from its nine-passenger turboprop planes are then shuttled for the 15-minute ride to Seattle-Tacoma International Airport about seven miles to the south.
Under the agreement, tickets to an Alaska Airlines destination can be purchased together rather than having to coordinate a Kenmore flight with an Alaska flight separately, O’Neill said.
O’Neill also told the chamber audience that the airlines has cut its fuel surcharge in half, which means lower rates for passengers.
The fuel surcharge between Port Angeles and Boeing Field is now $6.
