Kenmore Air Express will suspend its air service between Seattle’s Boeing Field and Port Angeles effective the day after its flight schedule Nov. 14, the company announced from its Seattle headquarters Friday.
“This decision was reached with great difficulty,” said airline president Todd Banks in a news release announcing the suspension effective Nov. 15.
“We have worked very hard for more than 10 years to establish an economically viable route between Seattle and Port Angeles.
“We are proud of the safe, convenient service our dedicated flight crews and ground staff have provided on the Olympic Peninsula and are grateful for the loyal patronage we have received.
“But despite our best efforts, we have been unable to sustain sufficient passenger volumes at sufficient fares to adequately cover our operational costs in the market.”
Passengers with reservations to fly after November 14, 2014, will be given full refunds of their fares, as will purchasers of unused QuickTix discount flight coupons, Banks said.
