OLYMPIA — Monday is the last day to register to vote online or by mail for those who want to participate in the Aug. 2 primary election.
Those who miss the deadline have until July 25 to register at their county elections offices.
County elections officials will mail primary ballots July 13.
In the top-two primary, the two candidates who receive the most votes advance to the November general election regardless of party preference.
Registering to vote, or making updates to your status, can be done online at http://tinyurl.com/PDN-registertovote or via U.S. mail by ordering a form at the same web address.
Registrations sent by mail must be postmarked by Monday — but the U.S. Postal Service won’t postmark registrations July 3, which is a Sunday, or July 4, which is a holiday.
County and state offices will be closed Monday, also.
Primary ballots must be postmarked by Aug. 2 or returned to a ballot drop box by 8 p.m. on Election Day.
Ballots also can be returned to accessible voting centers during business hours.
