PORT ANGELES — Get ready for flash and flair of tango.
The Juan de Fuca Festival of the Arts will present the Seattle City Sextet and “Tangoheart”‘ tonight, Friday, at 7:30 at the Port Angeles High School Auditorium, 304 E. Park Ave.
Complete with dancers and narrative, “Tangoheart” presents the story of tango’s most controversial figure, Astor Piazzolla.
“Tangoheart” is performed by Bertram Levy and the Seattle City Sextet with dancers Patty Leverett and Kevin Possio. The Seattle City Sextet is dedicated to performing the classic orchestration of the golden age of tango and the modern works of Piazzolla. It is one of 12 tango sextets in the world playing this intriguing music.
The Seattle City Sextet is made up of Bertram Levy, bandoneon; Traci Hoveskeland, cello; Claude Ginsburg, violin; Kat Fritz, violin; Andy Carr, piano; and Spencer Hoveskeland, bass.
Leverett is one of the pioneers of the Seattle tango scene and she and Rossio have studied with the great masters of tango in Argentina and the United States.
“Tangoheart” is presented by the Juan de Fuca Festival of the Arts with sponsorship by the PDN and the Washington State Arts Commission.

Prices are $15 for reserved seating adults; $14 reserved seating seniors and students; $13 reserved seating members and general admission: $7 for children age 5-12 and free for children younger than age 5 in general admission seating.
