PORT ANGELES — The Juan de Fuca Festival of the Arts continues today and Monday with dozens of music and dance concerts and workshops plus a free street fair and outdoor performances.

The main stage, with music starting at 10:30 this morning and continuing until about 10 p.m., is inside the Vern Burton Community Center, 308 W. Fourth St., with six additional venues presenting live entertainment in and around downtown Port Angeles.

Eight main-stage acts

Among today’s eight main-stage acts are modern-dance choreographer Maya Soto and her troupe performing a piece titled “Collage Pink” at 4 p.m. Then the Paperboys, a Vancouver, B.C., band blending Latin, Irish and other musical styles, will arrive at 8:30 tonight.

On the Chamber Stage behind the Vern Burton, saxophone player and tap dancer Shoehorn Conley will perform at 1:30 p.m.; a tango dance workshop starts at 6:30 p.m. at Studio Bob, 118½ E. Front St.

And Ranger and the Re-Arrangers play Gypsy jazz at 7 p.m. at the Elks Naval Lodge, 131 E. First St.

Outdoors in front of the Vern Burton center, today’s shows include the Black Diamond Fiddle Club at 1 p.m., hula dancers at 3 p.m. and a community drum circle at 4:15 p.m.

Rain or shine

These performances will go on rain or shine beside the street fair. The free fair is open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. today and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday.

Just inside the Vern Burton, a yoga class will start at noon today; an introduction to ukulele workshop, with loaner ukes available, starts at 2 p.m.; a swing guitar workshop follows at 3:30 p.m.; and a hula dance class for all levels starts at 5 p.m.

After hours

Tonight’s Juan de Fuca After Hours offerings include jazz vocalist Halie Loren at Wine on the Waterfront, upstairs in The Landing mall at 115 E. Railroad Ave.; comedian Toby Hargrave at Bella Italia, 118 E. First St.; and hip-hop band My Dad Bruce at the R Bar.

All performances start at about 10 p.m.

Admission to late-night concerts is included in a festival day pass, which sells for $18 at the Vern Burton center.

Those without passes pay $5 to get into all three spots.

Children 12 and younger, meantime, get in free to the festival. For more details, visit www.JFFA.org.
