Joy in Mudville brings wide repertoire to Sequim’s Music in the Park on Tuesday . . . and other free open-air concerts in Jefferson, Clallam counties this week

THIS WEEK’S SCHEDULE of free outdoor music on the North Olympic Peninsula:

SEQUIM MUSIC IN THE PARK — Tuesday, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Joy in Mudville (with Tongue & Groove and Deadwood Revival founders Jason Mogi and Kim Trenerry, bluegrass, folk, rock, blues, funk).

Music in the Park is every Tuesday evening through Aug. 25 at the outdoor James Center amphitheater in the Sequim Water Reuse Park, 563 N. Rhodefer Road, just north of Carrie Blake Park.

Bring a lawn chair or blanket to the grassy expanse in front of the amphitheater and a picnic meal to enjoy while listening to the performance.

Next Music in the Park (last concert of the season): Navy Band of the Northwest (American brass), Aug. 25.

PORT ANGELES CONCERT ON THE PIER — Wednesday, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Navy Band of the Northwest (American brass).

Concert on the Pier, sponsored by Port Angeles Regional Chamber of Commerce, is every Wednesday night through Sept. 9 at City Pier.

Dancing is encouraged.

City Pier is a kid-friendly, dog-friendly, no-smoking, no-skateboards, no-alcohol venue.

Some chairs are available for the disabled and early arrivals.

There is a snack and beverage vendor.

Concerts move to the roofed Gateway transit center, Lincoln and Front streets, if there’s rain.

“Bubble Man” Greg Bondy provides entertainment for kids at Concert on the Pier with chalk for pavement drawing and a bubble-making machine.

Next Concert on the Pier: Testify (classic rock and blues), Aug. 26.

PORT TOWNSEND CONCERT ON THE DOCK (last concert) — Thursday, 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., The Yacht Club featuring Kevin Mason (rock, soul and R&B) at the Pope Marine Plaza in downtown Port Townsend.

Bring a chair or blanket and your shades. The concert is for all ages. Dancing is encouraged.

A wine, beer and cider garden for concertgoers will be available at the plaza beginning at 4:30 p.m.

This is the last Concert on the Dock of the summer.

The concerts have been sponsored by the Port Townsend Main Street Program with financial support from local businesses including the Peninsula Daily News.
