FOR ALL OF you the goblins didn’t get, the holiday party season is on the horizon.
You’ll be making party plans for kith and kin, employees, neighbors, friends and maybe even someone you haven’t met yet.
When making plans, don’t forget to have a designated driver, a cab scheduled to pick you up or a friend to see you safely home.
I have a big party scheduled this month, and I already have a designated driver lined up.
It’s Southwest Airlines, and they’ll get me to Illinois and back for my Uncle Johnny’s 90-something and my 72nd, which birthday we share on the 18th.
I haven’t seen him since 1981, but we talk at least once a year on Nov. 18.
But don’t worry. I won’t miss a Live Music column because it’s too important for all of us.

■ On Friday at Bar N9ne, 229 W. First St., the 2nd Friday Art Rock (2FAR) takes away the chill with the Latin jazz and funk rhythms of Tanga beginning at 8 p.m. Artists Doug Parent and Jeff Tocher will collaborate on a painting with audience participation. $3 cover.
■ On Friday at Blackbird Coffeehouse, Eighth and Peabody streets, local singer-songwriter Luke Meeker performs acoustic folk, rock and pop at 7 p.m., with Dane Neilson of Propeller opening.
■ On Friday at Barhop Brewing, 124 W. Railroad Ave., the Hayshakers play country rock from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m.
■ On Saturday during the 2nd Saturday Art Walk, Hawaii Amor sings and plays the songs of Hawaii at Elliott’s Antique Emporium, 135 E. First St., from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
■ Today at Castaways Restaurant and Night Club, 1213 Marine Drive, Jerry Robison and Company with guests Jim Lind and Gerald Pierce will have you moving to a country groove from 5 p.m. to 8:15 p.m.
On Saturday, the Jimmy Hoffman Band struts and strums country-style with classic and Southern rock mixed in from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.
