THIS WEEK, WE’RE starting out on a serious note.
The Oso landslide has dominated the news, and this Saturday, a firsthand account of the disaster comes to the Junction Roadhouse.
Chantilly Lace, a longtime Port Angeles classic rock band, is hosting a reunion as a benefit for the Oso Fire Department with two silent auctions, a 50-50 plus raffle and more beginning at 4 p.m.
The first silent auction, with higher-end items, is from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., with another one going from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Hundreds of dollars of merchandise and services have been donated by giving merchants from Port Angeles and elsewhere.
There are some really sweet deals in the auctions you won’t want to miss, so come early and stay late.
Rachael Rock of Oso will give a talk and show photos of the disaster at 7:30 p.m.
At 8 p.m., Chantilly Lace takes to the stage for music and dancing until midnight.
Admission is by donation, and it all goes to Oso’s Fire Department.
Port Angeles
■ Today at Castaways Restaurant and Night Club, 1213 Marine Drive, it’s Jerry Robison’s musical jam with High Country and Rusty and Duke playing country oldies from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
On Saturday, dance to the classic rock, Southern rock and blues of The Trespassers, a band made up of Jim Lind, Gerald Pierce and Rudy Maxion, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.
■ On Friday at the Junction Roadhouse, 242701 U.S. Highway 101, K.W. Miller, formerly of Rocky Point All-Stars, as Dirt E. Hearse fronts Church of the Hearse with blues and old-time country from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.
On Saturday, the big benefit with Chantilly Lace is at 8 p.m., but the auctions start at 4 p.m. Dance until midnight. Admission is by donation.
Too far to drive? All Points Charter & Tours will be providing free transportation starting at 7 p.m. both nights. On Saturday, any proceeds will be donated to the Oso Fire Department.

■ On Friday at Barhop Brewing, 124 W. Railroad Ave., the R&B Band with Rachael, Mick and Barry plays classic rock, folk and country from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m.
■ On Friday at the Fairmount Restaurant, 1127 W. U.S. Highway 101, Dave and Rosalie Secord and Luck of the Draw are joined by guest Terry Roszatycki for golden oldie country tunes from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
On Sunday, join the country jam from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
■ On Saturday at Bar N9ne, 229 W. First St., K.W. Miller fronts Church of the Hearse with blues and old-time country from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. $5 cover.
■ On Saturday at Easy Street Coffee and Tea House, 128 W. First St., Good Machine with Daniel and Tiffany Mathre and Kenny Chung, local singers and songwriters, plays from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. This is an all-ages, no admission event.
■ On Saturday at the Dry Creek Grange, 3130 W. Edgewood Drive, Serendipity hosts a country jam from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., so bring your voice and your instrument for a good time.
■ On Tuesday at the Port Angeles Senior Center, 328 E. Seventh St., the Port Angeles Senior Swingers present Wally’s Boys playing ballroom dance favorites from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. $5 cover; first-timers free.
Joyce
■ Today at the Salt Creek Saloon and Grill, 53821 state Highway 112, Chip Norris hosts the Salt Creek Music Jam at 7 p.m.
Sequim and Blyn
■ Today at Wind Rose Cellars, 143 W. Washington St., Cort Armstrong and Jim Faddis entertain from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
On Wednesday, Bill Volmut performs original tunes and covers from the 1960s and ’70s from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

On Saturday, get your dancing shoes on for the classic 1940-’60s dance tunes of Nostalgia from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
On Wednesday, Final Approach lands with a load of great boomer dance music from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
■ On Wednesdays at Nourish, 1345 S. Sequim Ave., Victor Reventlow hosts the open mic from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., with sign-ups at 6 p.m.
■ On Wednesday at the Shipley Center, 921 E. Hammond St., Round Trip plays a variety of pop standards for dancing from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Members, $4; nonmembers, $5.
Port Ludlow
■ Today in the Fireside Room at the Resort at Port Ludlow, 1 Heron Road, Trevor Hanson plays classical guitar from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Port Townsend
■ On Friday at the Uptown Pub, 1016 Lawrence St., Skeeter Ezell plays soulful rock ’n’ roll classics from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., followed by the rocking jazz, soul and rhythm and blues of Blue Holiday from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m.

■ On Friday, the Juan de Fuca Foundation presents the Harlem Gospel Choir at the Port Angeles High School Performing Arts Center, 304 E. Park Ave., at 7:30 p.m. Tickets range from $15 to $35, with youths 14 and younger $10.
■ On Saturday at Black Diamond Community Hall, 1942 Black Diamond Road, Port Angeles, Devon and Dejah Leger of Canada’s La Famille Leger play the music of back porches and kitchen parties handed down through generations.
Eric Curl from Seattle will do the calling for the 8 p.m. contra dance.
A dance workshop will begin at 7:30 p.m.
There is a requested donation of $8 for adults, $3 for those younger than 18.
