NOW THAT SUMMER has unofficially started and plans other than mowing the lawn, gardening and doing other things around the house are taking shape, remember to include live music in your summer plans.

Port Angeles
■ Today at Castaways Restaurant and Night Club, 1213 Marine Drive, it’s Jerry’s country jam with guests Jim Hansen from California along with local favorite Terry Roszatycki from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
On Friday, classic country band the Trespassers will get you boot-scooting from 8 p.m. to midnight.
On Saturday, the Soul Ducks play rockabilly, Motown and rhythm and blues for your dancing pleasure from 8 p.m. to midnight.
■ On Friday at R Bar, 132 E. Front St., Locos Only (Kevin Lee Magner, Scott Bradley, Russ Lowry and Taylor Ackley) rocks from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.
On Saturday, if you like your blues mixed with a little country, check out the Hayshakers from 8 p.m. to midnight. This four-piece band features three from the Soulshakers and two from Haywire.
■ On Friday at Barhop Brewing, 124 W. Railroad Ave., Port Townsend’s Better Half plays funk/rock/soul from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m.
■ On Friday, the Fairmount Restaurant, 1127 W. U.S. Highway 101, has a country jam from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. with Serendipity, which then plays from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. with guest Crossfire.
On Sunday, join the country jam from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
■ On Tuesday at the Port Angeles Senior Center, 328 E. Seventh St., the Port Angeles Senior Swingers present Wally’s Boys playing ballroom dance favorites from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. $5 cover; first-timers free.

■ On Friday at Salt Creek Saloon and Grill, state Highway 112 and Camp Hayden Road, Chip Norris hosts the music jam from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Sequim
■ Today at Wind Rose Cellars, 143 W. Washington St., Cort Armstrong and Jim Faddis entertain from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
On Wednesday, Bill Volmut performs original tunes and covers from the 1960s and ’70s from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
■ On Saturday at the Sequim VFW, 169 E. Washington St., Still Kickin’ will get you kicking on the dance floor from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. No cover; open to the public.
■ On Wednesday at Nourish, 1345 S. Sequim Ave., Victor Reventlow hosts the open mic from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., with sign-ups at 6 p.m.
■ On Wednesday at The Oasis Bar and Grill, 301 E. Washington St., the Blue Hole Quintet plays jazz standards from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

■ Today in the Fireside Room at the Resort at Port Ludlow, 1 Heron Road, Trevor Hanson plays classical guitar from 4 p.m. to closing.

■ On Friday at the Uptown Pub, 1016 Lawrence St., Sam Maynard plays originals and covers from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
On Saturday, the Bone Janglers (Sean Divine and Cort Armstrong) play blues, bluegrass and Americana from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m.
■ On Friday at Port Townsend Brewing Co., 330 10th St., you can hear the Shed Boys, an acoustic quartet, play a mix of “high-energy” progressive and traditional bluegrass and folk music from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
On Wednesday, Dream City performs fun Latin reggae from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
■ Every Monday, Trevor Hanson plays guitar at Alchemy, 842 Washington St., from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
■ On Tuesday at the Cellar Door, 940 Water St., the Jenny Davis Quartet performs jazz standards from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
■ On Wednesday at the Highway 20 Road House, 2125 Sims Way, Ukuleles Unite! invites you to perform, sing along or watch for big fun during happy hour from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

■ On Sunday, Brian “Buck” Ellard with special guest Jim Sheppard plays country in a benefit for double-lung recipient Carol Reed at Prairie Springs Assisted Living, 680 W. Prairie St., Sequim, at 5 p.m. to help pay for her many medications. There will also be a dinner, raffles and a silent auction.

■ On Saturday, the Sons of Italy’s annual spaghetti dinner to help raise scholarship funds is at the Port Angeles Senior Center, 328 E. Seventh St.
The dinner is $15 for adults (cheaper for kids), and to top it off, the irrepressible Charlie Ferris will be crooning the songs of Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Bobby Darin and many other sons of Italy.
■ On Saturday at the Port Angeles Farmers Market at The Gateway center, Front and Lincoln streets, Dewey Anich performs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
■ Here’s a heads-up for the Port Ludlow Performing Arts dinner concert, “Sounds of Summer,” featuring the San Francisco band Flambeau at the Bay Club, 140 Spinnaker Place in Port Ludlow, on Saturday, June 14.
