PORT TOWNSEND — An outpouring of support from Discovery Bay-area neighbors on Monday countered opponents of the gunfire and explosions occurring at Fort Discovery Training Center.
Some supporters called the sounds of gunfire and exploding bombs the sounds of security and freedom.
Supporters, plus almost 800 signatures on a “Declaration of Support,” left Joe D’Amico “overwhelmed” Monday morning at the Jefferson County Courthouse.
The president of Security Services Northwest’s Fort Discovery Training Center presented the petitions to county commissioners after a week of signature gathering.
