PORT TOWNSEND — Former Police Chief Bob Hinton says he has developed a close relationship with the community after a quarter-century of police work here.
Candidate Mike Brasfield points out his prominent law enforcement posts in Seattle and Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
And Port Townsend Police Chief Kristen Anderson-Post says she is the only candidate with “local, current law enforcement experience.”
The three candidates for Jefferson County Sheriff made it clear during a forum Tuesday they think their experience makes them the right person for the job.
A fourth candidate, former Jefferson County deputy Glen Kilmer who missed the meeting to take his ill father to the hospital, later called his knowledge of day-to-day operations a plus.
The statements from three of the candidates were made during a Port Townsend Rotary Club forum.
