CHIMACUM — Services will be held Saturday for a 20-year former Jefferson County commissioner who was known for problem-solving and quiet manner.
B.G. “Brownie”‘ Brown died Sunday of a ruptured artery at his Chimacum home just days after his 71st birthday on June 26 and his 50th wedding anniversary on June 30.
A memorial service will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at New Life Assembly of God Church, 1636 Hastings Ave., Port Townsend, followed by a gathering at the Elks Lodge, 555 Otto St., where Mr. Brown was a lifetime member.
But already tributes have been pouring in for the man from former government colleagues.
Mr. Brown served in the District 2 county commissioner position between 1972 and 1992.
