PORT TOWNSEND — After nearly 12 years as a county commissioner, Chimacum Republican Glen Huntingford has conceded defeat to Cape George Democratic challenger David Sullivan.
“I think that the trend is pretty much carrying on the same,” Huntingford said Friday night.
“I will probably give him a call (Saturday) and tell him congratulations.”
Huntingford said he believes “the county’s going in the right direction and somebody else can step up and take from here.”
“I wish him the best,” Huntingford offered to Sullivan.
Huntingford said was uncertain what he will do after Sullivan takes his seat in January, but he was considering his options outside of life as an elected official. He is a longtime Chimacum dairy farmer.
A second count of about 2,000 ballots Friday at Jefferson County Courthouse helped solidify victories for Sullivan and fellow Democrat Phil Johnson, who unseated Republican Commissioner Dan Titterness.
Titterness conceded defeat to Johnson on Wednesday, a day after the general election.
