QUILCENE — The Jefferson County Republican Party is sponsoring a forum on charter government today at 6:30 p.m. at the Quilcene Community Center, 294952 U.S. Highway 101.
Representative from the Jefferson County Republican Party, the Jefferson County Democratic Party and the Community Rights Coalition will address the issues surrounding the charter government initiative, which will be voted on by Jefferson County residents in the November election.
All candidates for the freeholder positions are invited, and all will be introduced.
The emphasis of this meeting will be on District 3 candidates who will each be given three minutes to describe their backgrounds and platforms, followed by a question-and-answer session.
The Jefferson County Republican Party has not taken a position for or against the initiative.
