Jefferson: General election certified; Rodgers, others are elected

Jefferson County officials certified the general election results Wednesday, officially ending the 2004 campaign season.

The results of four contested elections in the county remained the same after the final vote counting.

Brinnon Republican Pat Rodgers finished with a 14 percentage point victory over Mark Rose to be District 3’s next county commissioner; Bob Sokol had a 13 percentage point win over Richard Wojt in the race for Port of Port Townsend commissioner from District 1; Catharine Robinson won by 23 percentage points over Terri L. McQuillen for Postion 4 on the Port Townsend City Council; and Lorna J. Ward won by 30 percentage points over Robert K. Henderson in the Quilcene School District at-large position.

The final tabulation showed 11,333, or 58.82 percent, of the county’s 19,268 voters cast ballots in the election. The percentage was slightly more than the 58.52 percent who voted in Clallam County.
