PORT TOWNSEND — She may be moving from Jefferson County’s Democratic Party leadership to Gov. Gary Locke’s inner circle in Olympia.
But Nancy Biery of Port Townsend insists that she’s not moving away from Jefferson politics.
“I do care about (the area) and have a lot invested in it professionally and personally,” she said Tuesday, one day after Locke’s office announced that she is the governor’s new director of external affairs.
Biery and her husband, William, will move to Olympia next week. She starts the job July 7.
Biery said she will stay in contact with many of the Jefferson party leaders.
