FORKS — A Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputy lost control of a patrol car and crashed into a ditch 38 miles south of Forks on Wednesday night, the State Patrol said today.
The State Patrol said that the Deputy Brandon M. Przygocki, 23, of Port Hadlock, was traveling south on U.S. Highway 101 when he lost control in snow and slush on the roadway at 8:40 p.m.
Przygocki was not hurt, said the State Patrol.
The State Patrol attributed the crash to the deputy driving too fast. He was not cited.
The patrol car, a 2010 Ford Expedition, crossed the northbound lane, left the shoulder and crashed into the ditch, where it traveled for some 155 feet before coming to rest against an embankment, the State Patrol said.
