The Jefferson County Auditor’s Office as of Monday received 5,469 completed mail-in ballots of the 21,286 distributed in October.
That’s a 25.69 percent return for the general election ending Nov. 8 so far, said Auditor Donna Eldridge.
“Someone better start voting if we are to meet our estimated voter turnout,” said Eldridge, who oversees county election returns.
Eldridge said her office gave the Secretary of State’s Office in Olympia an official Jefferson County general election estimate of 63 percent voter turnout.
Ballots must be postmarked Nov. 8 or be turned in at the county courthouse in Port Townsend by 8 p.m. on that date.
