A dramatic 15-minute 9-1-1 dispatch tape played Wednesday during the third day in the trial of Gary L. Middleton Sr. recounted the incidents leading to and following the April 28 shooting death of Douglas “Tony” Knight.
The tape, offered as evidence by Jefferson County prosecuting attorneys, included incriminating statements made by Middleton, as well as calls from Knight’s wife, stepdaughter and others.
Middleton is charged with first-degree murder for shooting to Knight death April 28 in the parking lot of the Maple Grove Motel in Quilcene.
The trial is being held in Jefferson County Superior Court in Port Townsend.
