PORT ANGELES — A Jeep Wrangler rolled over on Black Diamond Road after sliding on an icy roadway, firefighters said.
No one was hurt, according to Chief Sam Phillips of the Clallam County Fire District No. 2.
The Jeep was reported to be on its top with people trapped inside in a 9-1-1 call to emergency dispatchers at 5:48 p.m. Friday, Phillips said.
Sheriff’s Deputy Brandon Stoppani was first on scene and radioed dispatch that the people in the vehicle had climbed out of the vehicle and were on the roadside.
Fire District No. 2 medics checked the three patients for injuries; all seemed unhurt, Phillips said.
The 2008 Jeep Wrangler was traveling northbound on Black Diamond Road when it slid on ice and snow and went off the roadway on the passenger’s side, down an embankment and rolled over, landing on its top with the front end in a creek, Phillips said.
No fluids spilled, he added.
Along with fire department medics and the sheriff’s office, Medic 81 also was on the scene.
The Jeep was towed out of the creek and the area was cleared at about 7:45 p.m., Phillips said.
