A Japanese cultural event welcomed visitors to the Guy Cole Convention Center at Carrie Blake Park on Sunday to exchange traditions and friendship organized by the Sequim-Shiso Sister City Association.
Visitors listened to Japanese music, enjoyed performances by the Northwest Taiko group from Seattle and got a taste of Japanese cuisine.
Hidehiro Hosaka, senior consul of the Consulate General of Japan, and Mayor Walt Schubert were on hand.
The event was part of an ongoing cultural exchange between Sequim and its sister city, Yamaski, Japan, which has been renamed Shiso City.
