LAKE CRESCENT — The National Park Service is seeking witnesses to a fatal wreck that occurred at Lake Crescent on Sept. 25.
Bryan L. Meyer of Port Angeles was killed after the 2016 Ford F-350 he was driving rolled over on U.S. Highway 101 near the La Poel picnic area between 5 a.m. and 6 a.m., Olympic National Park officials said.
Meyer was 55.
Investigators said the pickup might have collided with a 19-foot log that might have fallen from a vehicle that was traveling eastbound on the highway.
The pickup was traveling westbound when the wreck occurred at milepost 224, Clallam County Fire District No. 2 officials said.
Special agents with the National Park Service Investigative Services Branch, Olympic National Park rangers and the State Patrol are working together on the investigation.
“If you traveled through this area of the park around 5 to 6 a.m. that day, or if you witnessed the accident, please contact us,” NPS officials said.
“You don’t have to tell us who you are, but please tell us what you know.”
