PORT ANGELES — A series of prank calls posing as Port Angeles School District automated messages triggered a districtwide email message to parents to disregard the call Wednesday.
The email message said some parents and students have received phone calls saying students are required to bring urine samples to their school administrator by the end of the week.
The call refers to the new state law allowing marijuana for public use and a corresponding rise in student use.
“This is false and did not come from the superintendent’s office or any associated office,” Jane Pryne said in an email message sent to parents Wednesday afternoon.
The phone call is not authorized and should be ignored, Pryne said.
