Port Angeles resident Homer Edward Blum died at the age of 94.
Mr. Blum was born to Fred O. and Mary (Turner) Blum in Tillamook, Ore., where he graduated from high school in 1926.
He also attended the University of Oregon and Pacific University.
Mr. Blum married Ava Franklin in 1931. She preceded him in death.
On Oct. 25, 1986, he married Harriett Franklin in Salem, Ore.
Mr. Blum was a salesman and area representative for Phillips Petroleum for 42 years. He and his wife relocated to Sequim in 1993 and to Port Angeles in 2000.
He belonged to North Salem Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of Port Angeles; daughter and son-in-law Jan and Dan Wilson of Salem, step-daughter and son-in-law Diane and Mike Zimmer of Port Angeles and son-in-law Robert Casad of Medford, Ore.; grandchildren Pam Wilson of San Diego, Calif., Penny Mole of Wilsonville, Ore., Patti Winchester of Salem, Ore., Matt Newell of Sequim, Marc Newell of White Rock, B.C., Sean Newell of Morgan City, La., Heidi Sanger, Laurie Casad, Andrew Casad and Carrie Potts all of Medford, Ore., and 14 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by step-daughter Judith Casad and sister Lena Blum.
Services: Saturday, Dec. 22, noon, graveside service at Belcrest Cemetery in Salem. The Rev. Hokie Moore will officiate. Drennan & Ford Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Norene Lowder
Nov. 11, 1922 — Dec. 20, 2001
Sequim resident Norene Lowder died at Olympic Memorial Hospital in Port Angeles at the age of 79.
Mrs. Lowder was born in Coeur d”Alene, Idaho, to John Ferguson and Florence Esther (McAlear) Foster, and attended schools in Post Falls and Burke, Idaho.
In May of 1953 she married Philip C. Lowder in Rupert, Idaho.
The couple owned North Idaho Adjusting Service in Coeur d’Alene.
The Lowders also lived in Anchorage, Alaska, and in Arizona before moving to Sequim in 1993.
Mrs. Lowder belonged to St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church in Sequim.
Survivors include her husband; sons and daughters-in-law Jerry and Irene Lowder of Caldwell, Idaho, and Sam and Linda Lowder of Portland, Ore., and adopted son Sam Barth of Sequim; daughters Estene Hammond of Sequim and Vickie Johnston of Caldwell, daughters and sons-in-law Carol and Bruce Ohfe of Spokane and Darlene and Danny Hayes of Portland; 18 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by son Jonnie Carlin Lowder.
Services: Private services will be held at a later date. Burial will be in Post Falls, Idaho. Olympic Cremation is in charge of arrangements.
Troy Moore
July 23, 1903 — Dec. 19, 2001
Retired educator Troy Moore died in Sequim at the age of 98.
Mr. Moore was born in Snoqualmie to Eugene and Elizabeth Jane (Mills) Moore.
He married Georgia Davis on June 3, 1932, in Olympia. She preceded him in death on Jan. 14, 2000.
Following his marriage Mr. Moore began teaching in Port Orchard. He became a principal and worked in administration of the South Kitsap School District in Port Orchard for 39 years.
In 1975 he retired to Sequim.
Mr. Blum belonged to a Masonic Lodge and to Easter Star in Port Orchard. He was also a member of the Retired Teachers Association.
Survivors include sons Stanley Moore of Forks, Troy Moore of Canby, Ore., and Wayne M. Moore of Soldotna, Alaska; daughter Merrianne Makela of Cashmere; 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Services: No services at his request. Drennan & Ford Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
