PORT ANGELES —Lower Elwha Klallam tribal member and Klallam language teacher Jamie Valadez will present “History of the Klallam People” at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
The talk will be held at the Elwha Klallam Heritage Center, 401 E. First St.
Suggested donation is $5.
Valadez will provide an in-depth look into the lifestyles, traditions and culture of the Klallam people, the original inhabitants of the area.
Valadez teaches Native American studies and the Klallam language at Port Angeles High School.
She recently was honored by the Washington Education Association as one of its 2013 WEA Human and Civil Rights Honorees.
