Construction work on the Kitsap side of the Hood Canal Bridge could cause delays for drivers using the bridge at night this week.
The state Department of Transportation work crews will clear and grade room for pullouts to be used during installation of new traffic cameras and highway advisory radio equipment at various locations on state Highway 3 and state Highway 104.
The work will be done between 7 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. nightly Monday through Thursday.
Flagger-controlled, one-way alternating traffic is to be expected northbound on Highway 3 between Finn Hall Road and the Highway 104 intersection, and eastbound on Highway 104 between Shine Road and the Hood Canal Bridge.
Night work also is planned in Port Angeles this week.
Both directions of U.S. Highway 101 at North Masters Road will be widened for an entrance to the Walmart Supercenter now under construction.
Drivers can expect single-lane closures between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. Monday through Friday.
Transportation crews also will pave Highway 101 between Simdars Road to Old Gardiner road between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. nightly Monday through Friday.
Drivers can expect a pilot car and flaggers directing alternating traffic on both lanes of the highway.
In Jefferson County, mowing will narrow traffic flow to one-lane from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday on state Highway 104 between Bonneville Hill and the Hood Canal Bridge and between Highway 101 and the Hood Canal Bridge.
Crews will work during the daytime on the West End, installing rumble strips on Highway 101, state Highway 112 and state Highway 113.
Pilot-car and flagger-controlled, one-way alternating traffic is planned from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday on both directions of Highway 101 between the Cedar Creek Bridge and the Indian Creek Bridge, both directions of Highway 112, from six miles east of the Makah Indian Reservation to Highway 101, and both directions of Highway 113, between Highway 101 and Highway 112 intersections.
Also in the West End, work crews will install signs at the Calawha River Bridge on Highway 101 between 8 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. Monday, and repair a rail on the Cannery Creek Bridge on Highway 112 between 11:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday.
A broken joint will be repaired on the Sol Duc River Bridge between 7:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.
